2 stroke engines are simpler and cheaper to manufacture compared to 4 stroke engines because of their less complicated design. 4 stroke engines last longer than 2 stroke engines that don't have a dedicated lubricating system. A 2 stroke engine can produce twice the amount of power than a 4 stroke engine of the same size. This is because it fires once every revolution instead of every other revolution giving it twice the power of a 4 stroke. Also has a higher weight to power ratio because 2 strokes are much lighter.

ReplyDelete2 strokes are alot lighter and faster! Why does it sound different than the 4 stroke? NV
ReplyDeleteQuentin, I have a suggestion for a follow up post to this one. Maybe you could show us what professional motocross rider prefer or their few on them? People who use them for a living would have a lot of knowledge about the engine they prefer and know from experience. Also, a video of a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke racing would be cool. Your blog is still looking great. C.D.
ReplyDeletei prefer four stroke dirt bikes and two stroke quads and boats its just the way to go IH
